Digital Scholarly Communication with Scalar – with Jentery Sayers (U. of Victoria)
Learn how to use this free, open-source authoring and publishing platform, which is designed for writing born-digital, linked scholarship online. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to experiment with their own Scalar books. There are no prerequisites for this workshop. People familiar with word processing, WordPress, or social media platforms should feel at home.
Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Humanities Research
with Justin Song – Spatial Information System Lab Administrator – SFU Geography Department
This workshop will introduce you to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts, and explain how GIS can be applied to humanities research. The workshop assumes attendees have no previous experience with GIS. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity for some hands-on time creating an interactive map using the ArcGIS software program.
